Content That Grows Communities, Not Just Followers
Follower counts are vanity. Comment threads, DMs, and repeat readers are the real signal. Build for those.
A million passive followers is worth less than a thousand active readers. That's not a hot take anymore, it's how the algorithms actually distribute reach in 2026. Engagement per follower is the metric that pays.
The brands winning attention right now share a pattern. They post from a distinct point of view, not from a content calendar. They reply in the comments. They repost their own community. And they treat every post as an invitation to a conversation, not a broadcast.
A practical example: instead of posting 'Our new feature is live!', post 'We just shipped this because 40% of you asked for it. Here's what we learned building it.' The second version invites a reply. The first invites a scroll.
The other pattern: consistency of format beats consistency of frequency. Pick one format your team can produce well every week, a Friday teardown, a Monday build log, a monthly customer spotlight, and defend it for 12 months before evaluating.
Community is a compounding asset. Followers are a rented one. Spend accordingly.
